Any Armored Vehicle that you have seen from Government Armored Limousines, Bodyguard Vehicles, U.N.Vehicles, Police SWAT Trucks etc. most likely have a set of Rodgard Run Flat Tire Inserts installed on them. For over 20 years Rodgard Run Flat Tire Inserts have protected Presidents, Government Agents, Dignitaries, Heads of State, Ambassadors, Rock and Movie Stars, and others.

 

Rodgard Run Flat Tire Inserts are made from lightweight, high strength polyester elastomers comprised of two components, a roller and a runner. The runner is securely attached to the wheel in the drop center, and provides a track or channel in which the roller is allowed to move or "rotate" about the wheel at the same speed as the tire, thus reducing friction and heat build up.

 

RODGARD Run Flat Tire Insert Systems are available in the following Sizes: 13", 14", 15", 16", 17", 17.5", 18", 19.5", 20" and 22.5". The Run Flat Tire Insert Systems are designed to give a minimum "Run Flat" distance of 10 miles (15 kilometers) with the Get-A-Way systems and up to 93 miles (150 kilometers) with the Super Standard Systems for Heavy Duty Military Applications.

This is a reinforced polymer device designed to provide flat tire mobility when used with pneumatic tires. This special composite material reduces friction and heat buildup inside a flat tire. The Bulldog Direct "CRF" is not a run flat tire, but a tire rim insert that is custom manufactured to fit your vehicle's tire and rim specifications. When your existing tires have worn out and need to be exchanged for a new set, our Run Flat Tire Inserts may be removed and installed with the new set of tires, giving the vehicle owner many years, and thousands of miles of use.

 

Our Standard "CRF" offers Bullet Resistant Protection from Handgun and Rifle Rounds.

Our Composite Run Flat Tire Inserts Can handle the added weight of a Heavily Armored Vehicle, something that Goodyear and Firestone's Run Flat Tires are not designed to do.

Military Hmmwv Run Flat Tire Inserts

 

Bulldog Direct currently produces Run Flat Tire Inserts and Beadlock Inserts to meet the demands of both military and security vehicles in strategic (battle zone) conditions as well as the tactical (supply and support) environment. Within these groups, products are manufactured to fit correctly on both one piece wheels with a standard drop center configuration, as well as flat based multi-piece wheels.

 

The theory behind Run Flat technology is to provide support for the vehicle ( in a Run-Flat mode) and to positively lock the beads of a tubeless tire to the wheel flange (beadlock effect) under any operating air pressure condition. By doing so, the vehicle can continue without concern for loosing its tire, or damaging the wheel or suspension components. Our Run Flat Tire Inserts have been thoroughly tested to meet both the U.S. and FINABEL standards for performance.

Land Mine/Blast Protection: VFI

 

VFI (Variable Function Insert) is a solid rubber insert that fits securely around a multi-piece, "flat base" rim. The device is inserted into a tubeless tire, which is in turn fitted around the wheel, thus becoming an "assembly" of complimentary components all designed to work together to provide optimum mobility. The Bulldog VFI is also designed to function as both a beadlock and Run Flat, thus providing maximum performance in all terrain conditions. Most importantly, the VFI meets all U.S. military standards, as well as the FINABEL and NATO standards required by most European military agencies making the VFI the most widely used Run Flat in the world.

 

Simply stated, a Run Flat Device provides continued mobility in the event of partial or complete loss of tire air pressure. Under attack conditions, a Run Flat increases survivability of the vehicle ocupents by allowing them to drive safely to a safe location, even if the vehicle's tires suffer complete air loss from hostile fire. Run Flat Tire inserts are bullet resistant, and offer added countermine protection to the vehicle and its occupants, and allow operations at high speeds as well as sustained mobility over any terrain.
