How it Works:
When operating in a "Run Flat" mode, the Run Flat Tire Insert provides support to hold the tire tread and sidewall off the wheel rim. Specifically, the tire engages the roller that rotates freely on the runner secured to the wheel. Without a Run Flat Tire Insert, the tire will quickly be destroyed and or come off the wheel, either case causing immobility. By keeping the tire off the rim, the Run Flat Tire Insert effectively prolongs the life of the tire allowing for continued vehicle operation and maneuverability.
Importance of the Patented Runner-Roller Concept:
This concept provides two separate elements essential to maximum performance.
1. Support for the Run Flat Tire Insert on the wheel.
2. An efficiently designed bearing surface for the roller to rotate on.
The independent roller allows the tire to rotate at the same rate as the wheel, minimizing heat build up. The runner is molded to match the wheel drop center profile, therefore maximizing the support of the Run Flat Tire Insert and providing an exact fit to the wheel. The proper fit of any Run Flat Tire Insert system to the wheel drop center area is essential for maximum performance and safety!
The unique bearing interface between the runner and roller includes a specially designed lubricating system that remains in place throughout the life of the Run Flat Tire Insert during normal operation. This insures permits free rotation and maximum performance during "Run Flat" Mode.
