When Governor Mike Foster of the State of Louisiana (USA) asked on a radio talk show for suggestions on how to help New Yorkers in the aftermath of the events of
September 11, 2001, one caller suggested that the State should fund the construction of a custom-designed fire truck to help replenish the Fire Department of
New York (FDNY) fleet. The job of building a 'pumper' fire truck to FDNY's specifications went to local firm Ferrara Fire Apparatus Inc. of Holden, Louisiana,

a severe thunderstorm sends a tree into traffic.
In these and numerous other scenarios, glass can be shattered, drivers and passengers can become the innocent targets of spalling: an inward high-speed, razor sharp
shower of glass slivers. The results can be catastrophic, But they don't have to be when the glass is protected by Dupont's Spallshield composites: a wise solution

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation authority [ LACMTA], faced with a vandalism problem, has launched an all-out prevention effort. Lacmta is a
fleet of 2,500 busses serving some 375 million passengers annually over 1433 square miles.
LACMTA has equipped it's fleet of busses with Dupont's Spallshield" composite laminates to protect both passengers and driver from the dangers of flying broken
glass. Spallshield composite laminated to any glass from 1/8" to 2" thick, flat or curved tinted or not, is simply a wise product. when protected glass is
impacted from the outside, glass spalling is eliminated. Driver and passengers travel more safely because Spallshield composite provides penetration resistance
for the interior of the vehicle. When danger becomes a reality, it's far wiser to replace the windows or windshield than deal with personal injury.
